Born in Lincoln, bred in Hull, now running wild (in the best way) in London. Performer turned hospitality and events obsessive, but always and forever a creative. I moved to London in 2023 for the vibrancy, the speed, the chaos and the collabs. I stayed for the food scene. But I missed proper Yorkies. I fell in love with pop-up culture here – the thrill of trying something new, the joy of chef collabs, and the magic of spaces that only exist for a moment. But I missed micro-pubs. I missed get it now before it’s gone. I missed PROPER roasts. No offence, Southerners, but your Yorkies leave a lot to be desired. Too much air, too much money, not enough love. They’re undervalued here and they deserve the attention and respect a Yorkshire lass can give them. Yorkies Micro is everything I love thrown into one pot: Micro-pub culture. Pop-up excitement. Northern soul. Proper food. Family. Friends. Hosting. Feeding people like it actually matters. Loud laugh. Louder heart. If a game can be made, I’ll make it. If food can bring people together, I’ll cook it. Nothing beats feeding the soul. That’s what Yorkies is here to do. My person. My rock. My calm in the storm. Millie is a performer, musician, actor and all-round creative who somehow transfers her artistry seamlessly into the kitchen. She’s cool, grounded, wildly capable and holds the operation together without ever raising her voice. At Yorkies, she is our kitchen extraordinaire and my mental support system rolled into one. She keeps things flowing, balanced and beautiful. Yorkies simply doesn’t run without her. "If my body was food, my heart would be a bowl of hot ramen, hot jalapeño popper for brains and guiness for blood.
The Technical Support
FARIMA
Farima is the one who shows up before you ask. Picking up the slack, rallying the troops and cheerfully enduring business chat at all hours — they make everything feel more manageable just by being in the room. An electrical engineer and project manager by trade, they bring a rare kind of strength to Yorkies — the ability to look at chaos and see a plan. Always two steps ahead, always spotting the next opportunity, always asking the questions that turn a dream into something real. We are very lucky to have them. A strategic mind and a generous heart. Yorkies is better for having them in the circle. "If my body was food, my heart would be Wagyu beef, my brain would be Toblerone and my blood would be orange wine."
The Soul
MAM
My biggest support. My absolute everything. There is nothing this woman wouldn’t do to help me grow, both as a human and as an entrepreneur. She is encouragement in human form. An unbelievably talented artist who works across every medium. A painter, a potter, a welder and next a candlestick maker. If creativity had a language, she’d be fluent in all of it. Her giant Yorkshire puddings, filled to the brim with veg and gravy, are medicine. When I go home, that’s what’s waiting for me, and it saves me every single time. If Mum was food, her heart would be flying saucers, her brain would be a giant roastie and her blood would be Yorkshire tea. A hell of a lot of tea.
The Heart
NAN
A woman who fills every room with joy and every plate with too much food (in the best way). The archetypal nan. Endless love. Endless feeding. Zero restraint. Her Christmas sausage rolls are famous. They’re gone before dinner even starts. The cakes… I can’t even talk about them. GET. IN. MY. BELLY. If Nan was food, her heart would be an apple pie, her brain would be nuts and her blood would be custard.
The Personality
BIG SIS
A proper Yorkshire lass who knows how to run a pub. The best pub quiz writer and organiser in Leeds - fact. Deadpan humour. Funniest person I know. Yorkies benefits massively from her experience, honesty and ability to cut through nonsense in seconds. If Hollie was food, her heart would be an big cut of honey ham, her brain would be mozzarella and her blood would be Beer.
